Hello! I’m Theodora.
I am the founder, ceramic artist, and ceramic instructor behind Theta for Ceramics.
My journey began in the world of theory: I studied History and Archaeology at the University of Crete, specializing in Modern History and Art History.
My desire to deeply understand art led me to take this pursuit one step further. I completed my postgraduate studies at the University of Glasgow, focusing on Technical Art History. There, I studied not just what was created, but also how, the materials and techniques that bring artworks to life.
From Hobby to Vocation
Ceramics entered my life as a hobby in September 2021, and it completely changed my course. The desire to delve deeper into this new, practical path grew with every passing day.
Soon, the realization hit: I had to take the leap and turn what I love into a profession. It was a conscious decision to merge my academic knowledge of materials with creative practice.
Theta for Ceramics
In July 2024, I opened the doors of Theta for Ceramics in Ano Ilisia, Zografou, Athens. This space is my personal haven and the core of my work:
- It serves as a sales point for my unique, handmade ceramic pieces.
- I teach weekly ceramic classes, sharing my practical and technical knowledge, enriched by my Art History background.
I look forward to welcoming you to the studio and sharing the magic of clay!
